Kathy Gwilt is a mixed-media artist, workshop teacher and writer living in Orange County, CA. Kathy loves to express her faith, life experiences and her healing journey though mixed-media art -- especially art journaling. She has been sharing her discoveries regarding the healing power of the arts by conducting art journaling workshops, classes and retreats.
Artistic expression has played a vital role in Kathy’s healing process. Over the years, she has become adept at employing art as a tool of her own recovery from the painful effects of childhood trauma and abuse. She is now making these valuable tools available to others by teaching art journaling classes and workshops. These classes and workshops have proven valuable to other women who are engaging their own personal growth, healing and spiritual development journey.
Kathy’s teaching role with the arts began several years ago when she became a certified Art4 Healing Facilitator. She also has years of experience teaching children and adults in local church, house church and retreat settings. Her first full-length art journaling class was created as a workshop companion to Bill Faris’ book How Healed Do You Want to Be? Some of the women who have taken the workshop have described it as “life-changing.”
Kathy and her husband, Larry have been married for almost 30 years. They have two grown sons and two grandchildren.
